SHINee THE FIRST concert in Japan DVD

SHINee‘s ‘SHINee The First Concert In Japan – SHINEE WORLD‘ DVD was released in Japan on January 11th and sold a total of 29,000 copies within the first week of sales. With this, SHINee has made their mark in history, securing the #2 spot with their DVD on the Weekly Oricon DVD chart.

The DVD contains footage of the boys performing at their independent concert in Tokyo last December.
In related news, the boys made a breakthrough in Japan with their first Japanese single “Replay – You Are My Everything” on June 22nd last year.
They sold 91,000 copies the first week, setting a new record for a debuting overseas artist from Korea.

The singer shared the above photo via SHINee’s official me2day on the 17th and wrote, “I did my best at the ‘Immortal Song 2′ recording today. Everyone, please watch the episode and show me your support.”
In the photo, Taemin is holding a large box with a thermos sitting on top of it, and gave the camera a nervous and awkward smile. His face looked incredibly small compared to the items he was holding, garnering the interest of fans everywhere.
Netizens who saw his post responded with comments like, “I’m sure you did fine. Will always cheer you on“, “So cute, Taemin. Want him to be my little brother“, and more.

Wanna be SWEET,Play Etude

It’s been a while since we’ve heard SHINee deliver a new song in Korean, but the wait is finally over! …Well, sort of.
On January 17th, cosmetics brand Etude House shared a new video featuring SHINee as their endorsement models. The video starts with Minho promoting Etude’s ‘Skin Malgami‘ line; it then delves into a studio clip of the boys performing a special song for the product.
It’s a little silly, but the track fit well with the toner’s refreshing qualities. Check out their song for Etude below, and keep your eyes peeled for Jonghyun‘s shuffle dance at the end!

SHINee's Minho becomes a gallant gentleman for 2NE1's Sandara Park

SHINee‘s Minho is much beloved for his talents, but now his appeal got kicked up another notch after netizens espied his chivalrous manners towards 2NE1‘s Sandara Park.
Snapshots from an Etude commercial shoot were shared online under the title, ”Minho taking care of Sandara. It’s heartwarming”.
Reportedly, the two stars were on standby, but Minho kept active by ensuring that Sandara was protected from the cold. Minho was seen putting a jacket on Sandara several different times, as the photos show him wearing different outfits. Sandara looks a bit taken aback by Minho’s manners, who is actually seven years younger than her.
Prior to this incident, Sandara had previously mentioned on SBS‘s ’Strong Heart‘ that “I like younger boyfriends. I’d like it if he would have a cute appearance but have a masculine, tough personality.” It seems that without knowing it, she went on to describe SHINee’s Minho indirectly.
Netizens commented, Nuna is pretty~ Replay~ kekeke”, “Minho is handsome and even has nice manners”, “They look good together”, and “I would totally support this couple.”

Behind the scenes with SHINee's Key

On January 19th, ‘Dazed & Confused‘ magazine shared a behind-the-scenes video featuring SHINee‘s Key!
In the clip, Key confidently displayed a variety of bold looks. From sweaters with flowers to a large caveman-inspired chiffon necklace, Key proved that he could rock any style.
The idol cheerfully commented, “I was chosen this time to be alone for this pictorial. Please look forward to it a lot. Right now, I am working hard at the photoshoot. I’m also really proud and satisfied (with the pictures), so please give it lots of love. Also, please look forward and have an interest in SHINee. Thank  you. Please anticipate it! Bye bye”.

Minho cast for SBS's upcoming sitcom

SBS has confirmed the final cast list for their upcoming sitcom, ‘The Salamander Expert and the Shadow Operation‘, which will see the acting debut of SHINee’s Minho!
Scheduled to begin airing on January 27th, the sitcom is already receiving widespread attention for the figures behind its production. Writer Seo Eun Jung, who’s created past hits like ‘Nonstop‘ and ‘Soonpoong Clinic‘ has teamed up with Green Snake Media, the production company behind the ‘High Kick‘ series.
Minho will be playing the role of a prodigal hacker named ‘Minhyuk’, and he’s already secured the viewership of the younger audience thanks to SHINee’s worldwide fame.
Green Snake Media expressed, “We believe that it is luck that we are able to greet the New Year with a production that combines the greatest of staff. We’ll be using our know-hows to create a sitcom that will leave a mark in history.”

SHINee comback song

Professor Kim Nando of the best selling novel, ‘It Hurts Because It’s the Youth‘, has revealed that he is penning the lyrics for SHINee‘s comeback album!
Late December, the professor wrote on his Twitter, “To update you on my recent whereabouts, I’m currently ripping my hair out over writing the lyrics for SHINee’s new song. I’m also preparing a book titled ‘Trend China‘ as well as the release of ‘Youth’ in China, so I’m trying to pick up on the language while I’m at it. In addition, I’ve begun writing essays for the middle aged.”
Professor Kim Nando is a professor of Domestic Science at Seoul University. His best selling book is a message of consolation to anyone in the current generation that is finding trouble discovering their future. In an industry filled with hook songs and meaningless, repetitive lyrics, netizens are hoping that he’ll be able to give some fresh air with his wisdom.
Netizens commented, “Looking forward to SHINee’s track now,” “I feel so assured of SHINee’s comeback now,” “I hope that his lyrics can ring a new bell in the industry,” and “Anticipating it, Professor!”

Since it was Sunny’s first time dubbing for a movie, she was asked who inspired her, to which she replied, “Taeyeon and Seohyun both have experience voice dubbing so they gave me a lot of help. Thanks to them, I was able to record a lot more comfortably.”
When asked whether she would like to pursue acting instead of voice dubbing, she said, “Instead of delving straight into acting, I’d rather prepare myself thoroughly step by step. I personally don’t think I’m ready so I’ll challenge myself in the future when I feel that I am.”
Commenting on his role of ‘Johnny’, Taemin expressed, “His shy personality is a lot like mine. I was very nervous in the beginning, but this was a great experience that I learned a lot from. If there is another opportunity, I’d love to try it again.”
